Effort, without the hustle.
An invitation to participate in your own life differently this year.
If I had to choose a word of the year it’d be effort. And it lowkey pains me to say that because there’s nothing more I want to do than lie tf down lol!
But don’t confuse this: effort ≠ hustle. For me, effort is more about being an active collaborator in my own life. It’s about building the mind, body, finances, and relationships I want without expecting everything to be handed to me 🤷🏾♀️
It’s intentionality. It’s commitment. It’s choosing to show up even when motivation is low.
There are seasons for rest, play, feeling, and reflecting. And there are seasons for decisiveness, focus, and no BS.
The latter is where I’m at, love bug.

And before your nervous system clenches—no, I’m not asking perfection of myself this year. I’m not asking for constant productivity, flawless discipline, or chaotic forward motion. I’m asking for honest effort.
Effort that’s clean and rooted in self-respect instead of self-punishment. Hello!
For me, this effort might look like:
Making the appointment
Telling the truth sooner
Sending the email
Moving the body gently but consistently
Choosing clarity over comfort
Letting it be imperfect and done
It may not be the sexiest commitment, but it’s deeply powerful. So before we go on any further, here’s an exercise I want you to try…right where you are:
A 5-Minute Non-Performative Effort Reset
Pause and plant your feet. Sit or stand comfortably. Feel your feet on the floor. Let your shoulders drop.
Breathe in for 4, out for 6. Do this five times. Longer exhales tell your body it’s safe to focus.
Ask yourself one question: What would honest effort look like for me today? Don’t overdo it; be fair to yourself.
Name one action—yes, just one. Write it down or say it aloud. Small actions count, too.
Close with permission. Place a hand on your chest and say: “I don’t need to do everything. I just need to do this.”
(Want the audio version of this exercise? Scroll up to the top of this letter! If you love it, drop a comment to let me know and to get an invitation to my next free Collective Meditation experience 🤍)
I hope you remember this year that effort doesn’t mean forcing sh*t. It means participating, choosing yourself in ways that gently compound, and being honest with yourself especially over time.
My wish for your 2026 is this: Deep peace. Clarity. And the courage to meet yourself where you actually are.
Thank you for bringing me into your 2026. Truly 🥰

yes to all of this! being okay with the way things turned out even if they aren’t “perfect” or the way i thought they would be. being okay with what i gave and knowing it was enough.
Amen to effort that’s rooted in self respect! I can relate so much to this. 🫂
